An established civil and drainage business, specialising in the supply of reticulated sewers to country towns, working in existing backyards or restricted locations, saw the need for an ultra light shoring system to suit the new range of mini excavators released onto the market. These mini excavators, being in the 2 to 7 tonne range, can excavate to around 4.0 metres in depth, but only have a limited safe lifting capacity of less than 500kg. The challenge was to develop a strong shoring system, that met the requirements of Australian, American, British and European standards and regulations, and weighed less than 500kgs. The system was required to be: modular, easy to handle, assemble, transport, and suitable to be lifted into position by the smallest of excavators. The Lite Guard trench shield was designed using structural grade aluminium, chosen for its strength to weight ratio. Other products were designed to meet the needs of different types of excavations eg. The Super Lite Guard. Access Chamber Units and LiteShore Soldier Sets. In 2008 LITE guard went back to the drawing board and the 3rd generation of LITE guard shields was developed, increasing the working loads of most of the shoring. Standard shield now available at 25kPa. Other sizes on application. Based in Lynbrook, Victoria, Australia, Liteguard supplies customers throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe, United Kingdom and Ireland. |
